Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) MRO division, Lufthansa Technik, is reportedly in early talks with US aviation turnaround specialists, Cloud Investment Partners, over a possible takeover of its Dublin International aircraft-engine MRO facility, Lufthansa Technik Airmotive Ireland (LTAI), which is threatened with closure. Declan Treacy, a founding partner of Cloud Investment, told the Irish Times his firm "would be interested" in acquiring the facility with the Germans close to signing a non-disclosure agreement. Once signed, this would then allow the firm to pore over LTAI's books allowing it to decide whether or not to proceed with the acquisition. Cloud acquired, restructured and sold a similar setup, Walter AS, in the Czech Republic in 2005.
