Sol del Paraguay (SGU, Asunción) is set to resume scheduled operations from October onwards the Paraguayan civil aviation regulator (Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil - DINAC) has announced.
During an interview with state radio, the director-general of DINAC, Luis Aguirre, said the carrier would launch domestic flights to Encarnación, Ciudad del Este, Filadelfia, PY and Pedro Juan Caballero using a 14-seater Cessna (single turboprop) Caravan 208B.
Founded in 2010, the airline had offered daily flights from Asunción to Ciudad del Este and Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini using a fleet of three F100s. In the wake of a slowing local economy, Sol del Paraguay suspended all operations in August 2012.
