Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) will not deepen their relationship with Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) for the time being, Chief Financial Officer, Simone Menne, has been quoted by aero.de as saying. Ms Menne said that while negotiations had been going on, now was not the right time for the two airlines to take their relationship to the next level. Purported plans have included jointly-operated routes as well as a stock swap. Lufthansa and Turkish had considered several options, including expanding an existing code-share agreement or bringing the Istanbul-based airline on-board the German group’s joint venture with United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) which covers routes over the North Atlantic.
