Eritrean Airlines (B8, Asmara) has wet-leased a B737-500 from Egyptian ACMI/charter operator Alexandria Airlines (DQ, Cairo International). Skyliner Aviation reports JY-JAI (msn 26438), which is itself leased by Alexandria Airlines from Jordan Aviation (R5, Amman Queen Alia), was positioned from Cairo International to Asmara last week.

With its only owned aircraft, a B767-200(ER), is currently in storage, Eritrean Airlines has been forced to rely on leased capacity. Prior to the B737-500 arriving, it had wet-leased a B737-300 from YanAir (YE, Kyiv Igor Sikorsky).

In terms of network coverage, Eritrean Airlines serves Cairo International, Dubai International, Jeddah International, Khartoum, and Riyadh.
