Hunnu Air (MR, Ulaanbaatar) has taken delivery of its first Embraer Regional Jet following the arrival of JU-8811 (msn 19000476) in Ulaanbaatar on Friday, May 24.

Formerly B-3146 with China Southern Airlines, the near 8-year-old twinjet features six seats in business class and 92 in economy. It is the first of four to be acquired by the Mongolian carrier on lease from CDB Aviation. The second of the type is due in 2020 with the entire quartet to be in place by late 2021.

Privately-owned Hunnu Air is in the process of renewing and upgrading its fleet having retired its Fokker 50s earlier this year. It currently operates two ATR72-500s on a network that connects its Ulaanbaatar hub with Dalanzadgad, Choibalsan, Moron, Ulaangom, and Ulgit domestically and Hailar, in China, internationally.
