Airports of Kyrgyzstan JSC, the operator of most Kyrgyz airports including Bishkek, has placed five retired aircraft up for auction. The airframes - three Yak-40s, one Il-18V, and one B737-200 - are currently stored at an unpaved storage area at the country's main airport.
According to a tender notice seen by local outlet Economist.kg, the operator is accepting bids for the aircraft until January 13, 2026. The auction results are scheduled to be announced on January 14.
The highest-priced lot is the Il-18V, EX-405 (msn 184007405), with a starting price of KGS7.38 million soms (USD85,000). The aircraft is listed as complete with a configurable layout for 89 to 120 passengers or a VIP configuration. Per ch-aviation fleets data, the Ilyushin Design Bureau turboprop was last operated by the now-defunct Anikay Air (Bishkek) from 2005 until 2014.
The B737-200, EX-061 (msn 21927), has a starting price of KGS3.51 million (USD40,100). The auction documentation notes this airframe is obsolete and partially cannibalised, missing instruments, cockpit glass, and seats. The narrowbody was last flown by Intal Air (Sharjah), also now out of business, from 2005 until 2013.
The three Yak-40s include one complete airframe, EK-88199 (msn 9630249), listed at KGS1.26 million (USD14,400). The remaining two units, EX-87442 (msn 9431935) and EX-87354 (msn 9330331), are listed at KGS1.12 million (USD12,800) each. The latter two jets are missing engines.
All aircraft have already been deregistered as of November 3, 2025, according to the civil aircraft registry maintained by the Civil Aviation Agency of Kyrgyz Republic.
Interested parties must provide a deposit of 10% of the starting price for each lot. The auction will proceed with price steps of 5%.
