NetJets Aviation (EJA, Columbus John Glenn, OH) will stop selling the Citation XLS jet card on December 15 as it transitions to the new Citation Ascend platform. The company currently operates forty Citation XLS jets in the United States, 14 under Portugal's NetJets Transportes Aéreos, and six under NetJets (United Kingdom). Fifteen Citation XLS aircraft have been phased out since early 2024, including eight this year, all in the United States.

The type will be replaced by the Citation Ascend, for which NetJets serves as launch customer and which secured Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval on November 5. In 2023, NetJets signed an agreement with Textron Aviation covering up to 1,500 jets, including a combined 100 Citation Ascend, Citation Latitude, and Citation Longitude aircraft each year over a 15-year period.
