Canada Jetlines (AU, Toronto Pearson) has received its air operator's certificate (AOC) from Transport Canada, paving the way for its August 29 launch from its hub at Toronto Pearson.

“Canada Jetlines looks forward to its inaugural flight and will be releasing new destinations and updated scheduling shortly,” the airline said in a statement.

The Ontario-based leisure startup earlier announced it would start with flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Moncton and Winnipeg International. The inaugural flight date was originally scheduled for August 15, 2022, but tentatively rescheduled for August 29, 2022, subject to final licensing approval.

“The entire team at Canada Jetlines is thrilled to obtain our AOC after meeting all necessary operation standards and passing all inspections,” commented Chief Executive Officer Eddy Doyle, CEO of Canada Jetlines.

Company details filed with the federal government show that Canada Jetlines is authorised to operate with A320-200 passenger aircraft. It plans to grow its fleet to a forecast 15 aircraft by 2025, the airline said in the statement.

As reported, the carrier currently leases a single A320-200 from Jackson Square Aviation, according to the ch-aviation fleets.

Its business model is to provide value vacation packages to leisure destinations within Canada as well as to the United States, Cuba, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua, the Bahamas, and other Caribbean islands.
