RwandAir (WB, Kigali) has returned an A330-200 wet-leased from GullivAir (G2, Sofia) ahead of the scheduled return to Kigali of its own A330-200 from the United Kingdom, where it had been in maintenance.

ADS-B data reveals that the company-owned A330-200, 9XR-WN (msn 1741) arrived from London Stansted on May 12, 2025, where it had been since April 24, 2025. The 8.7-year-old airframe with Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines was delivered from Airbus in September 2016. It subsequently returned to scheduled operations just a few hours later, departing to London Heathrow.

It replaces the short-term wetlease of LZ-TWO (msn 0493) from GullivAir, which returned to Burgas on May 4, 2025, after having served RwandAir's London Heathrow route since March 7, 2025.

ADS-B data shows that RwandAir's second A330-200, the 14-year-old 9XR-WX (msn 1224) leased from Merx Aviation Finance, remains in Teruel, Spain, for maintenance. The company-owned A330-300, 9XR-WP (msn 1759), continues to serve Heathrow and European destinations such as Paris CDG and Brussels National.

ch-aviation has asked RwandAir for comment.

Concerning the airline's narrowbody fleet, its sole B737-700, 9XR-WK (msn 30726), leased from Dara Aviation was ferried to Shannon, Ireland for maintenance on May 2, 2025.

One of RwandAir's six B737-800s, 9XR-WF (msn 40892), has been stored at Kigali since January 12, 2024, while one of its two CRJ900s, the company-owned 9XR-WH (msn 15286), has been parked at Harare International (Zimbabwe) since October 30, 2024. One of two DHC-8-Q400s, 9XR-WM (msn 4498), leased from MONTE, remains in maintenance at Kigali since August 2024, leaving the airline with eight active aircraft, with five currently out of service.
