Lufthansa Cargo (LH, Frankfurt International) and Brussels Airlines (SN, Brussels National) signed an agreement which will see the German freight specialist market cargo capacity on board the Belgian operator's aircraft out of Brussels National.

"Lufthansa Cargo has a lot of experience in marketing the cargo capacities of passenger airlines. This cooperation will help us to make even better use of the freight capacities of our fleet. And we, as the European Africa specialist, can add new destinations to Lufthansa Cargo's offering," Brussels Airlines CEO Christina Foerster has said.

Thanks to the new agreement, Lufthansa Cargo will market bellyhold cargo capacity on ten widebody Airbus aircraft currently operated by the Belgian airline - four A330-200s and six A330-300s. The German carrier is already selling cargo capacity on other Lufthansa Group units, such as Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, and SunExpress Deutschland.

The most significant addition to Lufthansa Cargo's network after the deal with Brussels Airlines will be the latter carrier's 17 African destinations, including Dakar Blaise Diagne International, Douala, Abidjan, Accra, Yaoundé Nsimalen, and others.
